When does Lockstead fit my needs?
Lockstead fits a shared-device situation: you lend your iPhone or iPad to someone and want selected apps to remain blocked. It runs on-device without an app account. Core protection for one app is free; Guest Mode and multi-app management require VIP.
Does Face ID unlock each protected app?
The optional Face ID or Touch ID feature authenticates access to Lockstead itself. Selected apps are restricted through Apple Screen Time until you change protection. Do not assume Lockstead adds a separate biometric login screen inside every other app.
What should I check before lending my phone?
Grant Screen Time authorization, configure your selected apps, and try opening a protected app. If you use Guest Mode, check which apps remain available. Screen Time authorization is necessary for the described protection.
Does Lockstead protect files I send to someone?
No. Restricting access to apps does not remove private details from a photo, PDF or video you share, and does not encrypt exported files. For that task, prepare a redacted copy or use encrypted storage as appropriate.
